Laura Boswell is a professional printmaker specialising in linocut and Japanese watercolour woodblock. She has studied in Japan and has work in Japanese collections as well as national collections in the UK. She writes a monthly column for Artist & Illustrator's magazine and divides her time between printing, teaching and producing public art.

Traditional Japanese Watercolour Woodblock

This course will take you from design to finished prints in 5 days. Laura will be teaching the authentic traditional Japanese Woodblock technique along with plenty of hints, tips and a little history so that you can continue to work in this beautiful painterly and flexible printing method at home. Along the way you will take a practical look at papers, tool care and wood for blocks. The course comes with a comprehensive factsheet and it suitable for all artistic abilities. All tools and materials are provided. 

Colour Linocut Reduction Printing

19 - 20 August 2017  -  £140  (LAST SPACES REMAINING)

This friendly and popular weekend course will guide you through the entire process of designing and creating colourful linocuts using the reduction method (where the lino is cut away as the work is printed). You'll be printing without a press and there will be plenty of advice for home printing including tool care and help with papers, ink and equipment. A detailed factsheet comes with the course and is suitable for all artistic abilities. All tools and materials are provided.
